Hyundai's world-fastest container vessel to visit Hong Kong

The others are Hyundai Liberty, Hyundai Discovery and Hyundai Fortune.

They will replace six 4,411-teu vessels on the service.

Deputy marketing manager Vincent Chan said the carrier's Asia-Mediterranean-Europe service would be inaugurated with the sailing of Norasia Fribourg from Hong Kong on Sunday.

The carrier will provide the service from Hong Kong every Saturday, using a space charter agreement with Norasia and MSC.

The service will call at Xingang, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Suez Canal, Singapore, Malta, Genoa, Barcelona, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Barcelona, Genoa, Malta, Singapore, Suez Canal, Jeddah, Dubai, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The service will use 10 vessels from Norasia and MSC, with a capacity of 2,852 to 3,066 teus, cruising at an average speed of 22.5 knots.

Using the same service pattern, Hyundai has decided to expand its scope to cover southwest Asia through Colombo, transshipping cargo to Cochin, Madras, Bombay, Calcutta, and Karachi, with a transit time of seven days arriving in Colombo every Sunday.
